Who is Light Empire?
Light Empire is an innovative and new start up that is focused on bringing you the most unique range of lighting for your home, office and garden.
Why do I need to input my Identity or Passport number? (Only applicable to South African consumers)
In some of our markets (example in South Africa) when any items on our website is ordered from our international suppliers, we require your identity number as the consumer ordering the items to comply with regulations so that we can Hand Deliver to your Door in an express manner.
This is not unique to Light Empire, but is a requirement prior to the goods being delivered to you. Other resellers may choose to collect your ID number after you have paid for the item but our model is focused on transparency and letting you know early in the process and before payment is made. If you do not want to include your Identity Number, we we will still be able deliver the items, however, this would need to be done via the Postal Services which would take a longer period and you would need to collect it yourself.
How do I know if an item is from a local supplier or international supplier?
Our international products would depict the supplier as Light Empire International on the product page above the product description.
How long do I need to wait for my international orders?
Through detailed research, we have partnered with an international fulfilment partner that is able to deliver goods in a fraction of the time. While our timeframes suggest 10-15 days, due to unforeseen circumstances and customs delays, we have observed that most of these deliveries are concluded within 7-10 days.
What about customs fees on my international products?
In order to provide you with a single transparent fee and not surprise you at checkout or later on, we have factored in all charges to the best of our ability through working with our courier partners. However, in the unlikely event, that you are charged a custom fee relating to a purchase on our website, please write to us on support@lightempire.co.za and we will gladly refund this to you.
Does Light Empire manufacture it's own products?
Our business model is built on curating the most innovative, unique and fit for purpose lighting solutions for our clients. We do not manufacture or warehouse any of the items on our website, but rather act as an intermediary between our clients and our suppliers, as such, we do not hold or directly import any items ourselves but facilitate this on your behalf.
Our partners have a trusted local and international network with the utmost level of care and inspection before any order is despatched. Unlike other resellers that operates as a marketplace, our suppliers only use verified and credible suppliers after a rigorous review and quality control process.
We have integrated with one local and one international partner who are industry leaders to conduct the order fulfilment and deliver directly to you.
